How do I get an application for Mac off a flash drive?
Mar 31st
I don’t have Microsoft Office on my Mac (vs 10.6 if that helps), but my friend has a copy of Microsoft Office on her flash drive. How do I get it on my computer, saved so I can take out the flash drive and use Word without needing a disk or anything? How do I just copy and have it saved to my applications?

How to recover replaced files on a flash drive?
Mar 31st
I was organizing my flash drive files, and hit replace on an entire folder. Is there any way to undo this action, or recover the files? There were about 10 drawings that were copied over, and no way for me to redo them. Thanks for any help.

How do I fully take advantage of DDR3?
Mar 31st
I’m buying a Lenovo X200, and am configuring how much RAM I want.
I remember with DDR2 there is dual channeling, in that case is it better to have 2x 1GB DIMMS or 1x 2GB DIMM???
If there is a 1 GB DIMM there isnt really any dual channeling..
Anyways, with DDR3 I remember reading that they have Triple Channeling, so how do you take advantage of that? I don’t know how to configure the laptop.
Here are my Options:
2x 1GB Dimms
1x 2GB Dimms
OR
(This is what it says on the page)
3 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
I don’t really care about 2GB of RAM vs 3GB, I plan to use XP which supports a MAX of 3GB, some kind of Intel Turbo Boost if that even works, a Samsung SSD to help with speed, and an Intel Centrino C2D P8600 as the CPU.
Now I’m not sure how dual channeling works if one stick is 1GB and the other stick is 2GB. But since there are only two slots, how can the Ram be triple channeled if there are only two sticks.
SO what is the best solution for getting the most out of the RAM, IE the fastest speeds?
Also I don’t plan to go 64 Bit, atleast until Windows 7 if its advantageous, and I don’t do much more than basic internet crap and play Red Alert 2….
What if I got 2x2GB DIMMS, although XP will only recognise 3GB of RAM, would it still use 1.5&1.5 in Dual Channel Mode?
I know the extra is a waste but I’m trying to future proof this laptop as much as possible so it will last me at least 2 years with whatever I may throw at it.
